RX400 MedX & Central Edition

Functionality

The RX400 MedX is a compact desktop device with an integrated computer, 4 front USB ports, label printer and touchscreen. The device can also be equipped with an internal CD/DVD drive for convenient import of existing patient CDs into PACS. Together with leading DICOM solutions, the system can be easily and quickly integrated into existing workflows like a DICOM printer.

Patient USB sticks are just as easy to use as the CDs, and are even faster. They also have the advantage of making data available even more quickly. Their high storage capacity allows multiple studies to be stored. The USB sticks are write-protected to prevent the installation of computer viruses and malware.

The integrated printer prints the patient label as soon as the recorded stick is removed. This prevents any mix-ups between sticks.

Advantages of the USB Stick for patients

RX400 ensures high data security, as the data stored on the patient sticks cannot be changed. We achieve this through WORM technology. ‘Write Once, Read Many’ allows the data carriers to be written to once, after which the USB sticks are write-protected.

In order to enable multi-session use, we have developed the Multi-WORM functionality: This means that it is only possible to write additional data on the USB sticks by using certified RX400 MedX devices. Existing data can not be modified and remains unchangeable.

It is possible to view the data on any PC, but no data can be written, changed or deleted without the RX400 MedX.

Security

The RX400 MedX can only be used with USB sticks that have special security features such as write protection based on the WORM (Write Once, Read Many) system. This guarantees that no further files containing malware, viruses or other threats can be stored on the stick and thus enter highly sensitive networks. Only the RX400 MedX system can add new data. This reduces risks and provides additional protection for your IT environment.

Easy integration

The RX400 MedX API enables easy integration for DICOM software providers. RX400 MedX is already fully integrated into several DICOM patient CD/USB solutions.
The RX400 can be used as a DICOM-Node for seamless integration in your environment. No additional Software is needed.

Integrated thermal printer

The integrated thermal printer automatically prints a durable patient label as soon as you remove a recorded and verified patient USB stick to ensure correct labeling. The label contains consistent content (e.g. name of the hospital) as well as individual components (e.g. patient name).
