Initial Situation

The requirement

Optical media such as CDs and DVDs are reaching end of life. Devices that burn CDs and DVDs are still in use, but the technology has been replaced by modern solutions. New devices that enable secure data storage and the transfer of data on secure offline media are needed. The variety of potential applications and demand is vast, covering areas from the healthcare sector to public administrations, making in-house development an appealing option.

Our Solution

That is what we have implemented

The RX400 is a compact, fully integrated desktop system with 4 front USB ports, label printer and touchscreen. The device can also be equipped with an internal CD/DVD drive for convenient import of existing data from optical media. The RX400 MedX is specially optimised for the medical sector. Together with leading DICOM solutions, the system can be easily integrated into existing workflows like a DICOM printer. Patient USB sticks are just as easy and even faster to produce than patient CDs used to be. The high storage volume allows multiple studies to be stored. In addition to the medical device, the RX400 Central offers further functionalities. An optional import function allows data from USB sticks and optical media to be read in centrally. The system can be easily integrated into existing workflows. With the MediaCreator WebClient, authorised users can access the RX400 Central from the entire network and write to USB sticks. All USB sticks comply with the security requirements for medical use and allow encrypted data storage. In addition, the USB stick is write-protected.
