A new and fully customised competition management system has been developed that integrates project management, competition manager administration, interactive competition allocation, and prize money management. Furthermore, the system has been equipped with additional features, including the functionality to conduct competitions, generate documents, manage sponsorships, and facilitate seamless communication via a dedicated messaging system. Video conferencing has been seamlessly integrated into the platform through the incorporation of BigBlueButton.
The Jugend forscht Competition Management 2.0 programme administers more than 110 competitions each year throughout Germany on behalf of the Jugend forscht e.V. foundation. From the first participation in a regional competition to the transfer to state competitions and the award ceremony at the national competition, approximately 6,000 projects and 12,000 participants are recorded and managed every year.
Children and young people are invited to submit their projects in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (MINT) via the designated web application. During the competition exhibition at trade fair stands, jury members will talk to the participants and submit their evaluations on forms generated online. The award ceremony will be held subsequently, during which certificates will be printed from the application.
